Hello readers. It's been a while since my last article here and I am back again with another transfer window special. The winter window has always been a difficult time for transfers ,primarily due to the reluctance of clubs in selling their key players in the middle of the season but important deals still take place within a short period .
In this segment,we'll have a look at the top 5 players who are rumored to be on the transfer list of some top clubs across Europe this month.
1) Dusan Vlahovic
The Serbian No. 9 will probably be the signing of this window if a move does materialize. He has bagged an impressive 19 goals in just 23 matches across all competitions this season and has been key to La Viola's push for a European spot in Serie A. A host of premier league clubs are rumored to be interested in signing him, with Arsenal believed to be the frontrunners as they look to resolve their striker issues with Aubemeyang ,who has reportedly fallen out of favor with Arteta. Fiorentina are willing to cash in on the 21 year old with a 75 million price tag but it currently seems that neither the player nor his agent are extremely keen on a move away. In a recent interview with a local serbian outlet, Vlahovic has said,
"Only God knows what will happen in the next period of my career, but my wish is to bring Fiorentina to Europe, because we have not been in Europe for a long time. I don't know what can happen overnight. We'll see."
With another 2 weeks to go for the closure of the window, this move seems to be revolving until the very end.
2) Luis Diaz
Porto have yet another exciting player in their ranks with the Colombian international making noise across Europe. Having been named the "Revelation of Copa America" earlier in the summer after helping his country finish third in the continental tournament, Diaz has had 22 goal contributions in 27 matches across all competitions this season. The dynamic winger offers plenty in front of goal, with his trademark trait often being cutting inside and smashing the top corner. Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs are keen on a deal this month while Porto has reportedly fixed a 70 million release clause in his contract. With such an impressive goal scoring tally, the 25 year old is guaranteed to improve the prospects of any club he joins in the future.
3)Denis Zakaria
The Swiss International is entering the final 6 months of his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach and it seems pretty obvious that the German outfit are ready to sell him for a reasonable fee rather than lose him out for free. The defensive midfielder has been subject to transfer speculation for quite a while now and it has only grown in recent weeks. Bayern Munich,Borussia Dortmund,Juventus and Manchester United are reportedly interested in the 25 year old. Though he has suffered from injury and illness related issues of late, the 6 million price tag that is reportedly being briefed makes it a no-brainer deal for a player of his calibre.
4) Sven Botman
Almost a year back,I made an analysis on the Lille defender and it's safe to say,he has only improved from his past form. Lille have struggled in the league this season, but Botman has been one of their better players. The 22 year old reportedly has an asking price of around 45 million, which in my opinion is a sensible deal considering his age and the qualities that he possesses. Newcastle United and A.C. Milan are considered to be the main contenders for his signature;both sides who are keen on improving their defensive options and the Dutch international fits the bill perfectly.
5) Dean Henderson
The current No.2 of the red devils' goalkeeping department is keen on game time and hence could be seeking a move away from Old Trafford, although it is believed to be a loan deal only. Henderson has started just 2 matches this season and it seems pretty clear as to why he wants a move in the first place. Ralf Rangnick, the current interim head coach is reluctant to let Henderson leave at the middle of the season.
“Well, I told him that I would like him to stay because he's a fantastic goalkeeper.""I can fully understand that he wants to play because he's in an age where as a goalkeeper he should regularly play"Ralf replied after being asked whether Dean had requested a loan move in January.
Southampton and Newcastle are currently the teams being rumored for a loan enquiry, although expectations are that a few more clubs may join the race towards the end of the window. Goalkeepers rarely sign with new clubs during the January transfer window, but Henderson's situation can boost any team's intentions to sign a quality goalkeeper.
Thank you for reading the article until here. It felt good to write after a brief period and I hope you liked reading it as well. Feedback is always appreciated:)
